Amos answered Amaziah, “I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees. But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’
You called Amos, a simple shepherd, to be a prophet and to speak Your word to the people of Israel. Like Amos, I may feel inadequate or unqualified to do the work that You have called me to do. But I pray for Your strength and guidance, that I may be obedient to Your call and speak Your truth boldly, even in the face of opposition. Help me to trust in Your provision and to rely on Your power as I seek to fulfill the purpose that You have for me.
Señor,
Tu llamada es poderosa y tu elección es firme. Así como escogiste a Amós, te pido que también me elijas a mí para llevar tu mensaje de justicia y rectitud. Permíteme ser un instrumento en tus manos, para proclamar tu verdad y actuar en obediencia a tu voluntad. Ayúdame a tener el coraje y la fe necesaria para cumplir con mi llamado, sabiendo que tu gracia es suficiente para sustentarme en todo momento.
Te pido que me des discernimiento para entender tus designios y valentía para enfrentar cualquier obstáculo que se interponga en mi camino. Que mi vida refleje tu amor y mis acciones den testimonio de tu justicia. Concede que mi ser entero esté consagrado a ti, lleno de tu Espíritu Santo, para que mi servicio sea agradable delante de tus ojos.

Y respondió Amós y dijo a Amasías: No soy profeta, ni soy hijo de profeta, sino que soy boyero, y cultivador de higos.
