May 2 – Noon

Read

At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

(Job 1:20-22)

Pray

Dear God,

You are the giver and taker of all things in this world. Just as Job expressed his grief and anguish after losing all that he had, I come before You with my own struggles and losses. Help me to find peace and strength in the midst of my pain, knowing that You are still sovereign and in control. Give me the faith to trust in Your plan and the wisdom to understand that Your ways are higher than mine. May I find comfort in knowing that You are with me in my suffering and that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to find hope in the promise that You will restore and bless me in due time.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
