March 4 – Evening

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

(Revelation 20:12)

Dear God,

You are the sovereign judge of all, seated on the great white throne, before whom all – both the living and the dead – will stand. You hold the book of life, in which every name is written, and from which each will be judged according to their deeds. Help me to live my life in the knowledge of this truth, striving to do all things in alignment with Your will, and seeking to honor and glorify You in all that I do.

May I never forget that the ultimate judgment of my life lies in Your hands, and may I always strive to live in a way that pleases You. May Your grace and mercy be upon me, and may I draw comfort from the assurance that my name is written in the book of life because of the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
