If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.

(Matthew 12:7)

Pray

Dear God,

You taught us through Your word in this verse that mercy is more important than sacrifice. You showed us that You value compassion and understanding over religious rituals and traditions. Help me, Lord, to embody this principle in my own life. Grant me the grace to extend Your love and forgiveness to those around me, especially in times when it may be difficult or challenging.

May I always remember that You desire a heart of mercy and kindness above all else. Help me to mirror Your love and grace to others, as You have shown me. Thank You for Your endless mercy and forgiveness towards me, and may I be a reflection of Your love to those I encounter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
