January 5 – Evening

Read

He said: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.”

(Jonah 2:2)

Pray

Dear God,

You are the God who hears and answers prayers, even in the midst of the darkest and most hopeless situations. Just as Jonah cried out to You from the belly of the fish, I too find myself in a place of desperation and need. You are the only one who can rescue me and bring me out of the depths of my circumstances. I trust in Your unfailing love and mercy, and I know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I could ask or think.

I pray that You will hear my cry and deliver me from the challenges that I am facing. Give me the strength to persevere and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for my good. Help me to surrender my fears and worries to You, and to fully trust in Your perfect plan for my life. I thank You for Your faithfulness and for always being near to those who call upon Your name.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
