December 27 – Evening

Read

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Pray

Dear God,

You are the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. I come to You today with a heavy heart, in need of Your comforting embrace. I thank You for Your love and for being there for me in times of distress. I ask that You wrap Your arms around me and bring me the peace and comfort that only You can provide. Help me to feel Your presence and to be reminded of Your faithfulness, even in the midst of my struggles.

You have comforted me in my troubles so that I may be able to comfort those in any trouble with the comfort I myself receive from You. Help me to be a source of comfort and support to others who are going through difficult times. Use my experiences to bring hope and healing to those around me. I trust in Your goodness and take comfort in knowing that You are always with me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
