December 17 – Evening

Read

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

(Mark 10:45)

Pray

Dear God,

You have shown us the ultimate example of servanthood through Your son Jesus Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. I pray that You would help me to have the same servant heart, to be willing to humbly serve others and put their needs above my own. Give me the strength and compassion to love and serve those around me, just as Jesus did.

I ask that You would help me to live out the example of Jesus in my everyday life, being willing to sacrifice my own desires and comforts for the sake of others. May I have a heart of humility and selflessness, always seeking to serve and uplift those in need. Thank You for the example of Jesus and the call to serve, and I pray that You would continue to work in my heart to make me more like him.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
