August 8 – Noon

Read

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

(Nehemiah 4:14)

Pray

Dear God,

You are my strength and my fortress, and I trust in Your sovereignty over my life. Just as Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem faced opposition and discouragement as they worked to rebuild the city wall, I also face challenges and obstacles in my own life. But I know that with You by my side, I can find the strength to persevere and overcome. Please grant me the perseverance and courage to face my own challenges head on, and to trust in Your plan for my life, just as Nehemiah and the people of Jerusalem did.

Help me to keep my eyes on You and not be discouraged by the obstacles in my path. Remind me that I am never alone, and that You are always working for my good, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. Thank You for being my rock and my salvation, and for always being there to strengthen and guide me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
