April 13 – Evening

Read

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

(Matthew 6:14)

Pray

Dear God,

You have commanded us to forgive others as You have forgiven us. I pray for the strength and grace to be able to let go of any bitterness, anger, or resentment I am holding onto towards others. Help me to remember that I am also in need of Your forgiveness and that offering forgiveness to others is an act of obedience and love towards You. May I have the humility to seek reconciliation and peace in all my relationships, just as You have offered us the gift of reconciliation with You through Jesus Christ.

I also lift up to You those who have wronged me, and ask that You would work in their hearts and bring them to a place of repentance and humility before You. Give me a heart of compassion and mercy towards them, as You have shown mercy to me. May the act of forgiveness bring healing and restoration to all those involved, and may Your love and grace be evident in all of my interactions with others.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
